INTAN JAYA - Under the banner of HABEMA Command, the Raider Infantry Battalion 509/Balawara Yudha Kostrad Task Force continues its mission of fostering security and community development in Intan Jaya Regency, Papua Tengah Province. On Friday, January 3, 2025, the 509 Task Force, stationed at the Koper Post led by Second Lieutenant Alvinta Sembiring, took an innovative approach to its duties by sharing National Insight with the children of Mamba Village, Sugapa District. This thoughtful engagement unfolded as soldiers interacted with children passing by the Post, leaving an indelible impression of hope and unity.
A Mission Beyond Security
The Commander of the 509 Task Force, Lieutenant Colonel Dian Dessiawan Setyadi, underscored the critical role of inclusive Social Communication in fostering connections with the local community. “Engaging with children is not just a responsibility but a privilege to shape future generations, ” he stated.
Living up to this commitment, the soldiers prepared educational materials on National Insight to enrich their interactions with the local children. These efforts reflect a proactive approach, prioritizing meaningful engagement beyond the call of duty.
Bridging Hearts and Minds
As children from Mamba Village passed the Koper Post, they were warmly invited by the soldiers to engage in lighthearted conversations. Laughter and enthusiasm filled the air as the soldiers seamlessly blended fun with lessons on patriotism.
One of the children, Lukas Sondegau, expressed his excitement, saying, "Stay motivated, Papuan Children. Long live TNI." The interaction culminated in the distribution of food, an act of kindness that was met with heartfelt smiles and cheers from the children.

The HABEMA Commanding General, Brigadier General Lucky Avianto, lauded the initiative as a beacon of TNI’s commitment to inclusive development. "The efforts of the 509 Task Force exemplify TNI’s dedication to fostering unity and progress through social engagement. These interactions are vital steps toward accelerating development in the Papua region, " he affirmed.
The Smart Papua initiative by the 509 Task Force represents more than a routine mission; it symbolizes hope, unity, and progress. By fostering connections with the community, the Task Force not only ensures security but also nurtures the seeds of a brighter future for Papua.
